The Createasphere Canon EOS Moving Image Workshops will be held in New York, October 25th through the 27th. I have been lucky enough to be a part of the workshops along side Nancy Schreiber, ASC. Canon has provided us with all of the latest equipment from their lineup to use in the workshops. We literally have dozens of cameras and every L series lens on the planet. The partnership between Canon and Createasphere provides the students with the most possible resources of any HDSLR workshop out there. Canon engineers are on hand to answer any question on any topic in the Canon lineup. Redrock Micro, Adobe, Marshall Electronics, Bron Kobold, Sunbounce USA, Litepanels, Lexar, Schneider Optics and Glidecam are all there with tons of new gear and yet to be seen products. It really is a gear head’s dream.

The workshops were designed for the professional photographer and cinematographer looking to get a better understanding of the Canon HDSLR cameras. In the Hollywood workshop where this promo was shot, we had various experience levels ranging from ASC cinematographers to film students just learning the craft. The workshops take each student through the entire process from acquisition to final product. We cover all of the bases in the workshop. Here is a quote from the Createsphere website.

“In small teams, you will collaborate with your industry peers as you shoot scenes in a variety of lighting scenarios. Get tips for determining whether to create an in-camera or post-production style, and find out how to adjust your shoot to fit a range of budgets. Get a comprehensive overview of post-production and workflow, focusing closely on output, color correction, off-and on-line editing and backup strategies.

From scene matching to color editing; gray card exposures to external monitor setups; lighting hardware to lens selection; and hands-on applications of third-party hardware now available, this workshop will give you the knowledge and experience to create your own content at the highest professional level.”

Nancy Schreiber, ASC is one of the most talented Cinematographers in the world. Her knowledge of lighting and composition is priceless. I have watched students literally light up in her presence. She is one of the kindest and most patient people I have ever worked with. It has been a privilege to work with her. She is a true master of light.

I have been shooting with Canon HDSLR cameras since the very beginning, I have also been writing daily about them for Cinema5D for about a year. That position has given me unprecedented access to all of the gear available for Canon HDSLR cameras. I have been lucky enough to make a lot of mistakes and have learned from each one of them.

Canon HDSLR cameras play a major role here in Hollywood. They truly are here to stay.
