Is this really a photo of the yet-to-be-announced Nikon D4?

Nikon users, brace yourself. The D4 is coming, and based on Nikon’s usual product release schedule, it should be here in mid 2011. For those interested in seeing photos of what Nikon’s new flagship body will look like, check out these pics.

Hang on a minute, this happens every time. While it’s true that Nikon could introduce a camera called the D4 next year, the company has yet to officially announce any such camera. Nonetheless the D4 rumor mill has been spreading across the web for close to a year now, and this one is complete with pictures, although if you read the comments on that post, you’ll see that more than a few readers are quite skeptical.
