Photoshop World officially began this morning with an action-packed opening ceremony, replete with magic tricks and Photoshop 20th anniversary celebration. But I’m getting ahead of myself.
The keynote ceremony kicked off with — believe it or not — the Photoshop guys in full KISS regalia, performing “I Wanna Photoshop All Night and Retouch Every Day.” Talk about multi-talented! After speeches from NAPP Executive Director Larry Becker and Scott Kelby, the crowd got to pick their favorite of three stellar photos taken at the Nikon pre-conference concert photography workshop. Congrats to the winner, who got herself a brand new camera and lens.
Adobe’s Johnny L wowed the crowd with his on-stage disappearing woman magic trick, followed by Russell Brown’s equally impressive disappearing woman Photoshop demo. Another highlight was Terry White‘s great intro to using Lightroom 3 with Premiere to organize and cut together moving and still images.
2010 marks the 20th anniversary of Photoshop. The program’s come a long way since its humble pre-internet beginnings and continues to be a remarkable, evolving product. The opening ceremony certainly set the stage, so to speak, for all the fantastic events and seminars to come over the next couple days. NAPP is surely the best partner the Adobe brand could ask for, not to mention some of the best Photoshop training around. Stay tuned for more PSW coverage!
