• By now, you’re probably familiar with the idea of crowdfunding, and you’ve probably heard of sites like Kickstarter. But did you know that there is a crowdfunding site dedicated to funding photojournalism work? It’s called Emphas.is. You’re welcome.
• For years now, the photojournalist Robert Caplin has been shooting On Assignment, a web video series that chronicles his journeys to and through various photo assignments. In his 101st (!) episode, which we’ve embedded above, Caplin takes us with him on a trip to Recipe, a New York restaurant that has hired him to photograph their dishes. The episode, like the rest of the series, is a great introduction to a very specific niche of photography.
